Amanda is a yoga instructor (ERYT-500), pilates instructor (Power Pilates), and ISSA Certified Personal Trainer based in Brooklyn, New York.
What was first a personal yoga practice in 2001 deepened after the birth of her daughter in 2011, when her professional journey in movement and teaching began in earnest. Under the guidance of her first truly inspirational teacher, Vivekan of Bodhisattva Yoga, Amanda earned her 200-hour teaching certification and started sharing the practice with others.
Shortly thereafter, she began teaching yoga to children through Karma Kids Yoga, where she discovered a passion for working with young students and families. She went on to pursue specialized training in children’s yoga, prenatal yoga, mom-and-baby classes, and yoga for children with special needs. Amanda continued to study and refine her approach, expanding her training to include Every Kids Yoga with Craig Hanauer and Prenatal Yoga with Samba Yoga.
In 2019, she deepened her study of yoga with internationally celebrated teacher Jason Crandell, whose work has profoundly informed her teaching and remains a primary source of inspiration and continuing education. She completed his courses The Art of Teaching Beginners (2019), Preventing and Managing Yoga Injuries (2020), and Mastering the Art of Sequencing (2021), How To Teach Breathwork and Pranayama (2025). In 2022 Amanda earned her 300-hour Advanced Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training certification from Crandell.
In 2020, Amanda expanded her movement practice to include Pilates, training with Power Pilates in Manhattan and earning certification as a Core Mat 1, Core Mat 2, and Core Mat 3 (Advanced Mat) instructor.
Today, Amanda is one of the most in-demand teachers in Park Slope. Her deep connection to a growing community of students inspired her to expand her work into personal training, allowing her to support clients across a wider range of goals and life stages. As an ISSA Certified Personal Trainer, she brings a holistic, movement-based approach to strength, mobility, and overall well-being.
In addition to her work in New York, Amanda leads an annual international retreat, creating space for students to deepen their practice in a more immersive and restorative environment.
Amanda is grateful for the guidance of her teachers, including Jason Crandell, Amanda Harding, Bobbie Marchand, Miles Borrero, Scott Anderson, Shari Vilchez-Blatt, Juliana Secches, and Venerable Amy Miller.
She lives in Park Slope with her husband Leo, daughter Sol, and maltipoo Miso.
